Are you searching for the finest acoustic small body guitars? Then you might want to pay attention to this little guide that I made.

Just like the most of you, I am not a big person. I can always consider myself petite or moderate, if they may suffice. I always encounter difficulties whenever I am playing standard size or jumbo guitars. That's my very ordeal.

Because of my predicament, I always find joy in playing small acoustic guitars. There's something about them that makes me drool over. They are easy to play, soft to the hands, and convenient to carry. Of course, their sounds are fantastic and soothing too.

Many guitarists and musicians I know have a great perception of small acoustic guitars. In fact, I knew some guys out there that consider the instrument impregnable to their playing set.

If you are just starting to delve into this world, I have some recommendations that I want you to try. Just remember, I am just suggesting here, okay? I am not forcing you to get them. But if you feel like having them, then, by all means, get them.

Recommended Acoustic Small Body Guitars

The Recording King Dirty 30's Harmonella Single 0

The Harmonella Single is one of the quintessential forms of acoustic guitars. The sound it produces is commonly dry and rough, which made it become a beloved unit for many songwriters and blues guitarists around the world.

Specifically, the Harmonella is among the first guitars that are included in the Dirty 30's Series. They are notable because of their tailpieces. You can say that they this instrument is pretty vintage. However, it still has the tonal characteristics that are highly useful in modern playing techniques.

When it comes to the aesthetics, the Harmonella Single is as classic as it gets. It is one of the selling points of the guitar, and I cannot just argue with it. You can say that it is an old-school acoustic guitar that still fits in the current era.

The Martin 00-15

Many guitar legends acknowledge the quality of Martin guitars. Needless to say, they have been in the market for quite some time already, and many people have benefited from them already.

Just like the Harmonella Single, the Martin 00-15 imbibes a classic and vintage appeal. It is an old model, but its functionality still speaks of relevance in the world of guitars today. Specifically, the Martin 00-15 is a modification of the Martin 00-17 guitar because the latter was discontinued in the production. There are some differences between the two models such as the binding. It is noticeable that the binding of the Martin 00-15 is a lot cheaper than what used in the 00-17. That's the probable reason why the overall cost of owning a Martin 00-15 doesn't hurt that much.

Alvarez AF70

Another option that I want to share with you is the Alvarez AF70. Together with its cousin Alvarez Yairi, the Alvarez AF70 exemplifies the necessary qualities of an acoustic guitar. Despite being small, it has a complex and well-balanced frequency. It sounds great and doesn't suffer from the unwanted tonal loss.

The AF70 of Alvarez is slightly bigger than a 000-body size. It features a scale of 25 inches and a very slim neck, perfect for players with small hands. The spacing of the strings is pretty narrow, ensuring that the guitar will give you the benefits of a compact instrument.

Of course, the materials used on this guitar are pretty good. None of them feels cheap at all. However, I have noticed that there are some imbalances or variations that are seen in the color of its headstock and heel. But that should not become a deal-breaker, considering the tonal fluency of this acoustic guitar.

The guitar works well with fingerstyle and strumming techniques. Even if there are specific instances in where you can hear bass compression, the quality remains excellent overall.

Alvarez Artist Series AF70CE Folk Acoustic - Electric Guitar, Natural/Gloss Finish
  • Hand selected, ‘A’ grade, solid Sitka spruce top
  • Hand sanded, scalloped bracing
  • Rosewood back and sides
  • Paua abalone and mother of pearl inlays
  • Lifetime limited warranty

Eastman E60M

The Eastman E60M is one the non-Western acoustic instruments that are making a name on the market today. It is built on the premise that acoustic guitars should be great sounding and usable at the same time.

The first thing that I have noticed about the Eastman E60M is the big neck profile that it has. Considering that it should be a small instrument, such design can come as a surprise.

Essentially, the overall layout of the Eastman E60M is patterned to the Martin OM-18. Therefore, the sound and tonal character of this guitar is also a replica of OM-18 of Martin. The construction of the E60M includes a spruce top and mahogany sides and back. When the guitar plays, it can indicate a classic vibe but with versatility that can fit various genres today.

Collings 001 Mh Custom

Both Santa Cruz and Collings are known for being top manufacturers of boutique guitars. Obviously, their primary goal is to contend against top acoustic guitar builders such as Martin. It is an amusing thing for me that these entry-level brands have the capacity to take the pedestal already.

The Collings 001 Mh Custom is an example of a small and fine acoustic rig. It is the direct competitor of the Santa Cruz 1929 00, which makes it an exceptional choice. Choosing any of these guitars is acceptable. But we just have to highlight this guitar from Collings.

The Collings 001 Mh Custom has a delightful sound with a balanced tonal complexion. It is savvy and can soothe your ears pretty sweetly. It doesn't hurt at all if you are going to play this instrument for extended periods. The slim neck profile and the small body guarantee that petite players can enjoy tagging along with this guitar.

Conclusion

Acoustic guitars are meant for amateur players who want to learn the art of playing guitars. But even experienced players will still have to get an acoustic guitar as a practice unit or something that would elevate your performance.

These acoustic small body guitars that I have mentioned are suitable for players of different level of expertise. However, they are perfectly ideal for individuals that have small hands or small bodies. Children and women are among the market of these guitars. But even guys that have diminutive frames can get them.
